Columbian TecTank™ provides a variety of welded and bolted silos for the chemical industry. We offer both bolted and welded fabrication in coated carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. All of our silos can be design with hopper bottoms for assembly on common structures or with skirts.

Beginning with solid engineering principles, Columbian TecTank™ can provide product testing to determine the optimum design for reliable product flow for your silo. Welded tanks with welded hopper bottom tanks on structures, welded stainless steel silos, bolted coated carbon steel silos, welded aluminum silos with skirts and welded hopper bottom storage on legs are some common applications for chemicals.

 
Columbian TecTank™ silos are used extensively in the milling, baking and food processing industries.

Our FDA and USDA compliant coatings for carbon steel are often specified by major food producers, as is our stainless steel and welded aluminum silos. Columbian TecTank™ welded silos, skirted to grade, are suitable for most dry bulk food materials. Columbian TecTank™ bolted silos, which can be positioned on structures, built on legs or skirted, are also suitable to many dry food materials. For grain storage, Columbian TecTank™ produces bolted silos and XL tanks.

 

Columbian TecTank™ bolted tanks are suitable for a variety of industrial liquids. Our factory-baked protective coatings for carbon steel and our stainless steel fabrication, coupled with a broad selection of gasketing and hardware, provide reliable storage solutions for numerous applications. Bolted tanks may be fitted with plastic encapsulated bolt heads and nut caps for additional protection. The economy of bolted tank fabrication, reliable assembly and proven quality are ideal for industrial liquid storage applications.

 

Columbian TecTank™ bolted silos are commonly used for mineral storage applications, including crushed rock, coal, granular materials and dust. Our abrasion resistant coatings are factory applied and baked.

Mineral dry bulk storage silos with hopper bottoms can be erected on structures. They can also be skirted for truck or even railcar loadout. Our XL bolted silos have also been used on large scale cogeneration projects and other specialized applications.

SealWeld™ aluminum silos manufactured by Columbian TecTank™ incorporate the uniqueness of shop-fabricated aluminum panels, which bolt together in the field. Once assembled, the silos are seal welded on the tank interior. The resultant product is a welded aluminum tank that will accommodate increased storage capacity requirements. This product is routinely specified in the petrochemical market when product contamination is an issue. The SealWeld™ product line, as manufactured by Columbian TecTank™, ranks as the highest quality product of its kind. Silo construction can be designed for structure or skirt support and is easily containerized. Columbian TecTank™ will design per the required domestic or international codes.

 

Directed Flow Channel (DFC) Blending Silo
Columbian TecTank™ manufactures a gravity blender specifically for the plastics market. The Columbian TecTank™ DFC Blending Silo has been designed to provide superior blend performance. Reducing variables in your product stream at an affordable cost improves the economics of plant operation. The most important factor in your processing, the quality of the blend of raw plastic, will be more consistent.

Features
The DFC Blending Silos incorporate both continuous flow and top hole flow principles. Our flow channels and LIFO (Last In, First Out) tubes result in quick, high performance blending with a higher single pass blend index. The blending silo is designed and engineered for the flow characteristics of your product, resulting in the optimal silo for your application.

DFC Blending Silos smooth the profile of stored materials through gravity blended discharge or batch recirculation. Tendencies for abrupt changes in melt index, color variation and particle size are reduced. The silo discharges a more homogeneous blend. Gravity blending silos provide a better return on capital investment than standard storage silos.

Columbian TecTank™ DFC Blending Silos are designed for the specific application. Columbian TecTank™ offers product-testing services that will ensure superior product flow and blending. Our production facilities are ISO 9001 quality system certified. DFC blenders are available in aluminum, stainless steel or factory coated carbon steel.

Columbian TecTank™ provided original bolted design storage silos for grain/seed, wood and other dry products such as crushed rock dust, kiln dust, etc. There are grain storage silos that utilize “smoothwall” steel sidewall panels. Unlike light gauge corrugated panels, smoothwall construction is heavier, minimizes product hang-up and is designed for process requirements.
